Digital Mixing Console for Radio & TV Broadcasting Applications

The Studer OnAir 3000 further extends Studer’s range of digital broadcast consoles with a completely new design aimed at the medium to upper segment of the radio market including private and public network broadcast stations. The operating concept of the OnAir 3000 will be totally familiar to Studer users, as the wide range of compact and elegant control surface modules incorporates the same patented “Touch-n-Action” philosophy as the highly successful Studer OnAir 2000, using colour GUI screens.

The OnAir 3000 design is based on a completely modular desk and a separate DSP engine. The fader module includes six fader strips, and up to eight fader modules may be fitted, giving a maximum console size of 48 faders. Layout options range from a highly comprehensive engineer-operated continuity console to a single fader panel for DJ and newsroom use or even a PC-operated system with no physical desk controls.

The console has three main stereo mix buses plus an audition facility, four stereo AUX buses, 16 mix-minus sends, configurable as AUXes and three independent studio monitoring circuits and offers full dynamics, EQ and input/output routing in each channel.

Product description


The new DBTU/DBTV Series of Digital UHF/VHF Television Transmitters is fully compatible with the international DTV standards (DVB-T, ATSC, ISDB, etc...) and suitable for SFN (Single Frequency Network) and MFN (Multi Frequency Network) applications.

Output Power. The DBTU/DBTV Series has an output power range from 6 W to 40 kW in analog operation and from 2 W to 12 kW in digital operation. The Transmitters are fully broadband.
Digital Modulator. The DBTU/DBTV Series is equipped with a “high-performances” digital modulator (DVME-16) fully and easily configurable to meet all the requirements of the DTV standards. The spectrum bandwidth may be configured to 8 or 7 or 6 MHz as required. Hierarchical modulation (optional) allows simultaneous transmission of two MPEG-2 transport streams.
Fully frequency agile with ultra low phase noise design. The DBTU/DBTV Series transmitters have an intuitive and easy to use interface to select the frequency without any readjustment needing.
Digital precorrector. A powerful digital linearity precorrector in the modulator combined with a very selective output band-pass filter allows to obtain a perfectly clean spectrum in the adjacent channels and an excellent modulation linearity.
Phase noise. Very low phase noise oscillators allow to optimize the BER and MER performances.
Analog compatibility. The DBTU/DBTV Series UHF/VHF Transmitters are also available in analog version easily field upgradable to digital into the same rack or it is possible to have a “DUAL-MODE” configuration locally and/or remotely selectable in analog/digital operation for maximum flexibility.
Metering. Full transmitter metering, control, setting and system diagnostic available in the front panel and (optional) remotely.
Filtering. Critical mask and non-critical mask filters available.



Apantac to release six TAHOMA-DL multiviewer models in 2011


Apantac will roll out six TAHOMA-DL models during 2011, with the first one being the TAHOMA-DL-4+4. This model accepts four multimedia inputs and four broadcast SDI inputs for monitoring on high resolution display.

Combining multimedia inputs including DVI, VGA, RGB, HDMI, Blu-ray DVD, DVD, component video, S-video and broadcast-quality 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs, the TAHOMA-DL is a powerful multi-image display-processing solution for multichannel, multiformat live production when computer-generated inputs and live cameras shots are being switched at the same time.

Additionally, the TAHOMA-Mini-Q is a fixed quad-split multiviewer that auto detects four 3G/HD/SD-SDI and composite (PAL/NTSC) signal inputs and displays them as DVI, HDMI, HD-SDI or VGA signals on a single display. It supports output resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, including 1080p. It can be used as a stand-alone quad-split multiviewer or be expanded to a full system where up to eight hot-swappable TAHOMA-Mini-Q modules can be combined in a 3RU rack frame with hot-swappable redundant power supplies.

The TAHOMA-Mini-Q is based on the standard Apantac TAHOMA architecture, which divides operational modules into specific video processing and control elements and includes features such as built-in CATx extenders to extend and display video signals up to 115ft away from the multiviewer.
